Pneumatic Conveying of Finished Petfoods

Prior to Mac Equipment receiving final order confirmation extensive trials were run at their Houston test plant to establish the effect of conveying various sizes and shapes of extruded petfood in both Low Pressure Continuous Dense Phase (LPCDP) and Low Pressure Vacuum Dense Phase (LPVDP) pneumatic conveying systems. In addition, trials were undertaken with blended coloured and shaped products. Results obtained on all systems tested proved conclusively that Mac's unique system design and air management controls provided a pneumatic system that can convey friable products with minimum breakage (+/- 1% to 1.5%) and without any visual loss of product integrity.
